Camino de Paz y Compasión
from San Antonio, USA to Monterrey, MX
Building the Camino
The Charter for Compassion and Bob the Peacebuilder, alongside partners in Texas and Nuevo León, are developing a Camino de Paz y Compasión (Corridor of Peace and Compassion) from San Antonio to Monterrey. The Camino connects and strengthens relationships within and between cities, towns, and rural communities—supporting education, programs, and actions that build compassion, peace, and civic health.
The Camino brings together community leaders, elected officials, educators, students, civic and faith groups, and local organizations to build compassionate communities, host cultural and educational programs, and grow cross-communal cooperation.
Next steps: walking the camino
After foundational visits along the corridor in 2024 and 2025—including conferences, university presentations, and community art activations—Bob the Peacebuilder will now take the next step: walking the physical path of the Camino de Paz y Compasión.
In February 2026, Bob will walk from San Antonio to the U.S.–Mexico border.
In October 2026, he will walk from Nuevo Laredo to Monterrey.
These walks deepen the Camino through direct engagement with communities along the route, creating space for connection, shared action, and compassionate storytelling. Walking allows us to slow down, listen, build relationships, and promote the values of the Camino through a public, visible, community-centered action.

The Declarations of Interdependence by Roland Poska
Bob will carry Roland Poska’s Declarations of Interdependence, lithograph prints that people sign if they agree to “end violence, end prejudice, and achieve respect for all.”
Individuals are photographed along the Camino with the Declaration and invited to share a brief story of compassion or care. Together, the audio recordings, photos, and signed artwork form a public record of people across the corridor committing to acts of compassion and peace.
